One of my dogs has a wound on his ear that wont heal.?
This dog is a mix of alot of dogs i bought at a local flea market. In his left ear he has a what looks like a wound not that big maybe the size of a width of a dime. But it wound heal???? I have tried giving him antibiotics. Still nothing. When i touch his ear he pulls away like it hurts. One of my cats recently had bot flies in his leg and i am afraid this is what has happen to my dog. But the dog only has the one hole not multiple holes like the cat had?? No others he has had it for a few months i am just wondering what to do or what it is i could take picture and email it to someone if they wanted. Leaving three dogs alone for 3 days?
Ok i have a family emergency and need to leave town for 3 days, i had someone to come over and check in with my three dogs but they now can not do it, my dogs are my family and i would love not to leave them but i have no choice, i have a German Shepard who is 2 a beagle who is 6 and Labrador who is 5, they stay home most days for 8 hours due to work but they stay in my garage which is empty apart from the dogs stuff its 40 foot by 40 foot they have fresh running water system and plenty of food, toys and bedding, they play all day with each other and when i get home they go out in to a large garden to potty and play with myself and my son, now as i said before i have no choice but to deal with my emergency, i have no way of getting someone to check in on them and can not afford to kennel them, is there anyway that is safe of doing this? has anyone ever done this safely? i only moved her 4 months ago and do not know any neighbors well enough to check in on my dogs or my home, i have no family over here as i am from the UK originally, i feel so bad and i am at my wits end trying to find help with this problem, please has anyone got any helpful advice?
How can I make my dog lose weight?
He goes to the dog park everyday for about 2 hours and gets 30 minute walk a day. He is a 11 month Lab and he is 97 lbs He gets fed 3 cups a day. And also he always barks at like 2 am, is there a way to stop this?
What should I do with my dead dog?
My dog died a few days ago just lying on the floor in the corner of my living room. We knew it was coming because he's been very sick lately but now that he's dead we don't know what to do with him. He's still in the same place where he died but no one wanted to touch it and now he's starting to smell a little. Any help?p.s. For the people telling me to cremate my dog, should I just put him in some type of barrel and light it on fire. How should I cremate it? Any suggestions?
I need names for a female white dog with black/brown spots?
she is only 2 days old but i dont even have a clue what kind of name she should have. It needs to be only two syllables though. its a tradition with all our hound dogs. it also needs to be a name fitable for a mountain lion bear hunting dog. she will need a strong name that doesnt sound like a lap dog. please help me out.

My 11 month old chihuahua has started bleeding and leaving small stains around the house. I had heard that dogs got their period but now I see it does happen... WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO HANDLE THIS YUCKY SITUATION? it has never happened before and I ma trying to find a place that would neuter her for a resonable price but I am wondering when are you suppossed to neuter her??????also does she need more shots when she turns one year old like for rabbies???
Can I get Tapeworms from my dog?
SHIVER. I've had my puppy for a few days and i let him sleep in my bed with me and he dropped those orange rice looking things, and i didn't worry about it, until now, and I looked it up and it says its tapeworm segments...and he just pooped and worms were in it. I put it in a bag to take to the vet to diagnose just to make sure...but i feel so gross I've been SLEEPING with this dog. Do I have tapeworms from touching those little orange things?
My dog has a horrible underbite, help?
I have a one year old female pit bull, about 47 pounds. She has a underbite, but its not just the teeth its the entire lower jaw that appears to be about two inches farther forward than it should, to the point that the lower canines are a good bit in front of the upper ones. Its financially not an option to take her to the vet, and i haven't had her long, but she can't chew well and she gets sick often. When i get her soft food she does, too. Any recomendations? And, what kind of treatment would be used for her?
Does a normal vet tell you to do this with your pregnant dog?
Ok so my neighbor moved out and left his dog with me because he xan't afford her, who might be pregnant. He thinks she's around 30 days now. I can't fix her within the next month because I just had my 2 dogs and 2 cats fixed. I called my vet and asked for a bloodtest and he asked me her symptoms. I told him fatigue after exercise increased appetite a little vomiting and clingyness. He told me to wait until I think she's around 45 days and just bring her in for an x ray instead of a bloodtest, so I can save money just incase she isn't pregnant. Is this normal or something a vet wouldn't normally do?
Need some advise on getting my dog neutered PLEASE READ THE DETAILS!?
I have a 17lbs french bulldog boston terrier cross. He is 16months old and we have been putting off getting his fixed because we moved to calgary and not sure of any really good vets here... i work at a dog grooming salon and all ive heard is horror stories.THE MAJOR reasons why im nervous about getting it done are he is very weak, i just fond out he was born in a puppy mill and his immune system is very very weak. He had manage when he was a puppy and the meds the vet gave him knocked him out he couldn't even walk or sit up and it was the smallest amount of medicine. and that's the same for anything he gets into, we have to watch what kind of treats we give him his food we have to watch everything or he gets all wobbly and cant stand up.im nervous that the anaesthetic and the drugs for pain will either kill him or make things worse. I know it needs to be done any vets out there have any advise for me?
