Is it safe to feed Alpo dog food to my?
cat?The convenience store was out of cat food. Poor wittle kitty's hungwee. I'm experiencing post purchase remorse. I simp ly don't have the time money or energy, right now, to go all over looking for the proper type of food.
Question about dog food?
I've been feeding my 11 1 2 month old puppy blue wilderness small breed. And all of a sudden he stopped eatting his food. He has done this with many brands of foods. I'm worried... What should I do? Take him to the vet? Feed him all wet food? Or what? I'm so confused he's my first puppy and I'm worried sick.I know I'm probably causing more harm than good, but I care about him so much I hate to see him not eat If I switch him to the wet blue wilderness... Do I have to transition and will he get his complete nutrient requirement?
Do you feed processed dog foods?
I don't other than having a quality dry kibble as back up. I'm amazed at how many fall for the vets telling them the only good food is something they sell. You can have a home made diet & keep your dogs very healthy as long as you keep it simple. I find dogs that come to me with skin conditions nearly always do better once taken off a fully processed commercial dog food diet.So whats the go with all this only feed your dogs this recommended kibble surely people are bright enough to know a home made diet needs to consists of protein, fibre, carbs, fats & vitamins & minerals. We breed, raise & butcher or own chickens, sheep & cattle for meat so understand I'm lucky to have plenty of protein sources without paying a huge price for it. Oh by the way not interested in hearing about cruelty to animals because we butcher our own as we do it to be sure it's done right & as humanly as possible. And the big upside is knowing they are not full of hormones & chemicals. I have worked in both feed lots & abattoirs & know what goes into out cattle & how they are treated & I did not agree with it at all.So what do you feed your dogs & why as i'm always interested to hear new ideas & recipes?I tell what i do as i think it's rude to ask others what they feed & not say what I feed. I think dogs are individuals & 1 one size fits all approach to feeding is not ideal. Of course dogs have different dietary needs to people we are not meant to have near the protein level of dogs.I made my brake down vague as it's not really about what I feed just as I said before I feel rude not to say something about what I feed. I'm actually interested in how people feed as I am interested in most points of animal husbandry.Oh & a recipe dose not have to be cooked duh, when ever you mix a few ingredients that's a recipe.

Dog owners: Is there a good substitute for this Science Diet dog food?
We had adopted a black labrador from Lab Rescue. When we got him, he had been eating Science Diet for Sensitive Stomachs his entire life. Since getting him, we've tried on a couple occasions to getting a different dog food brand since SD is so expensive. So far, none of the few we've tried has helped. He just gets not to be gross " loosies." i have a 4 year old Chihuahua who is currently eating Iams, which iv heard is one of the worst foods out there, i have been looking for months and months for a food, i keep seeing different suggestions, then getting bad reviews on it, such as Arden Grange, James Wellbeloved, Chicken Soup, Wellness and Orijen, which iv also heard may be too high in protein, my dogs fussy too, so i need a food that he actually enjoys, if you can give me suggestions it would be appreciated

My puppy ate way too much adult dog food!! (2 cups)?
My boyfriend's mum was watching our puppy yesterday and she wasn't paying attention when my puppy got into her adult rottweilers food. My puppy is 30 pounds at 16 weeks and a larger breed mutt. She normally eats about 2 cups of puppy food a day broken up three times daily. Today she ate her breakfast and lunch plus about 2 cups of this other dogs adult food. She is really bloated and keeps whining..I called my emergency vet and she told me to walk her for 15 minutes a few times to help loosen her up...any advice would be much appreciated, we're really worried
