What small dog breed is good for first time sog owners?
I have been wanting a dog for 5 and a half or 6 years and i have done ao much research. My parents have finally agreed to get a dog this summer since we will be home. I think we r going to get a puppy instead of a grown dog. My mom wants a dachshund, and my dad wants a big dog, my sister really has no preference. My mom says no to a big dog since they have a high activity level and we dont have a big enough yard. I currently work at a local animal shelter so i can have an idea if which breeds r good. I want a small, sweet, semi active, lapdog, that is great with families and easy to train. My friend's dog is having puppies, her dog is a cavalier king charles spabiel, she has a wonderful personality And she isn't like the tiny cavaliers she is actually pretty big, so i like that. Please help It can be a mixed dog too oh and we have bunnies and a cat, the bunnies r in an above ground cage outside that is two stories. Thanks 3
What dog breed looks the most like a Wolf?
It's for a story I am writing. I need a dog breed name that could easily be mistaken for a wolf in the forest. I'm aware that the husky and malamute closely resemble the wolf, but I'm leaning more towards the malamute because they are taller and stalkier more ancient and natural breed, more like the body of a wolf, whereas the husky only weighs about 60 pounds and is lighter correct? Well are there any other dogs who resemble wolves more? Any that aren't actual wolf crosses?

I am living in an apartment, but I will be living there for at least a year if not more. I am not ruling out a shelter dog or mix, but I do need information on which dog breed is least likely to bark a lot, plus be under 30 lbs, preferably the smaller the better.Okay, so I've narrowed it down to miniature or toy Poodle, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Papillion, Shih Tzu, Chihuahua, Maltese, or Pomeranian.I would prefer not to get a terrier because I do have a cat.
